Nagoya TV Tower was the first centralized radio tower completed in Japan. The tower was completed on June 19, 1954, with funding from Aichi Prefecture, Nagoya City, NHK, and the local business community.Known as the "TV Tower," it has become a familiar symbol of central Nagoya.Analog broadcasting ended in 2011.Digital terrestrial TV broadcasting signals are transmitted from the Seto Digital Tower in Seto City.Seismic work and facility renovations began in January 2019, and the facility reopened in September 2020.In May 2021, the facility naming rights were sold to Chubu Electric Power Co. It is now called Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER.
