Tokugawa Ieyasu divided on the south of Nagoya Castle squarely and was taken as townspeople's dwelling. It had been called "Gobanwari". The big fire called "Manji-no-taika" broke out in 1660, and most castle towns were burned down. Then, the Horikiri-suji(southernmost end of Gobanwari) was widened 4 or more times for fire prevention, and the Hirokoji Street was built from Hisayacho to Chojamachi. The Hirokoji Street has continued up to now as a connoisseur representing Nagoya. Tenma-kaisho was located in the place which applied to the Nagoya posting station of the Minoji way. It is the public agent in which people and a horse flock.It had prospered as the central part of the Nagoya Castle Town area till the middle of Meiji Era(1868-1912).。

Horikiri-suji street located in the southernmost end of Gobanwari was a narrow way which has road width only 3.64m. The big fire called "Manji-no-taika" broke out in 1660,and most castle towns were burned down. For fire prevention, the section from Hisaya-cho to Chojamachi of this way was widened 4 or more times, and the Hirokoji street was born. On widened Hirokoji street, people gathered in order to enjoy the cool at the night of summer, and enjoyed such as a play, mimicry, and iai till late at night. Hirokoji street has been used as the typical way in Nagoya up to now.

Although Asahi Shrine suited Asahi village,Kiyosu in the territory of the Ise Shrine,it was relocated at the time of the Nagoya Castle Town birth.This shrine has been worshipped as the guardian deity since then.

Asais house had been Court Physician of Owari clan. Moreover, medical private school called Igakukan was built and the examination of a doctor had been also done. The show which exhibits international products and animals had been held on June 10 every year.

When Yoshinaga's daughter princess Harumime was married to the Owari clan founder Tokugawa Yoshinao, the Komiyamas house which was a vassal of Asano Yoshinaga of Kishuu clan attended as the member. Komiyama Soho who took the post of a domain doctor of the Owari domain opened the pharmacy in the castle town. The pharmacy acquired reputation with No. 1 in Owari, and the store greatly had prospered.。

Setokuji is a temple of the Tendai sect of Buddhism.This temple had been called Enkoji-kishoin originally. Since The Shoutoku Taishi work Buddha statue was set to Honzon (principal object of worship at a temple), it was changed into this name.

*Shoutoku Taishi(574-627): After Empress Suiko took the throne, Prince Shotoku served as regent (the post which rules the country instead of a ruler who is too young) and helped the empress carry out the government with Soga-no-Umako.

Tenmma Kaisho(Public commission place) was put on the place where Minoji Way and Honmachi street branch. The circumference of this crossing was the post-town of Minoji Way, and although there were no Honjin etc., a place to post a notice board was installed. Tenma-dori(The west side overlaps Mino Way) passing through the east and west of this crossing is connected with the Shita way which goes to Nakasendo High way. This neighborhood had been the finance, the commercial center of Nagoya till the middle of Meiji Era (1868-1912). The former Nagoya station(1886-1937) started business in Sasashima. The commercial center of Nagoya moved to The Sakae area on Hirokoji street both sides.

*Honjin:An officially appointed [approved] inn (for the use of daimyo in the Edo period)

*Shita way:The hway connected to Nakasendo High Way (Kyoto-Tokyo) along with the present Japan National Route 19
