The Sakae area around the Sakae intersection is known as Nagoya's largest shopping district.In recent years, the development of the area around Nagoya Station in preparation for the opening of the linear Shinkansen line has reduced the relative presence of the Sakae district.With the aim of revitalizing the Sakae area, a redevelopment project of Hisaya Odori Park using Park-PFI was launched in early 2019, and the construction work on the north side of the park was completed in September 2020.　At the same time, the Nagoya TV Tower (now Chubu Electric Power Company's MIRAI TOWER) underwent seismic isolation work and renovation.
