Nagoya Castle Honmaru Palace is said to be a masterpiece of modern castle architecture and was designated as a national treasure, and along with the Ninomaru Goten of Nijo Castle in Kyoto, which is now a national treasure, it was said to be the twin peaks of the samurai-style Shoin style of architecture.The restoration work that began in 2009 has been completed, and the entire building was opened to the public on June 8, 2018.It has also been decided to restore Nagoya Castle Tower in wood. We are thrilled to imagine the scene of Honmaru Palace alongside Nagoya Castle Tower .The interior of Honmaru Palace is gorgeously decorated with wall paintings of landscapes, waterfalls, flowers and birds, as well as decorative metal fittings by modern artisans using traditional techniques.
